New glider available for sponsorship or purchase

The Montgomery Botanical Gardens at Oak Park is excited to offer a new glider for sponsorship or purchase.  These handmade iron double gliders are replicas of the wooden double swings that were in Oak Park for decades.

Sponsor a glider in the garden for $2000, and a plaque will be added recognizing your contribution. You may wish to honor or memorialize a friend or family member, and you can also purchase a glider for your home or lake house.

The double glider features 36″ seats.  Perfect for sitting and enjoying your surroundings.

The Montgomery Botanical Gardens at Oak Park appreciates the Millbrook Garden Club for sponsoring three Blushing Bride Hydrangeas.  Blushing Bride graces the garden with big round balls of soft blooms, providing an elegant touch of color in the garden all the way into fall.

The website includes the plants available and the amount needed.  We include pictures of each plant with a detailed description and how to care for the plant.

The following plants are sold out for sponsorship:  Dogwoods, Blue Wave Hydrangeas, Blushing Bride Hydrangeas, Endless Summer Hydrangeas, Banana Shrubs, Tea Olives and Ligustrums.

Conversation Piece Azaleas are in bloom

 

Azaleas are in full bloom in Montgomery. Truly a masterpiece, Conversation Piece was designed to be an easy to care for, gorgeous shrub. It requires little maintenance to flourish, and isn’t bothered by pests, disease or browsing deer.

The Montgomery Botanical Gardens at Oak Park still have a few azaleas available for sponsorships.  A sponsorship is $19.38  .  Over 100 azaleas will be planted in the Southern Garden this spring.

Sponsor your azalea today.  A memorial or honorarium would make a perfect Easter Gift for a loved one.

 

Lockerly Arboretum Visit

 

Over Spring Break, I had the opportunity to visit with Executive Director, Jennifer Pollard of the Lockerly Arboretum in Milledgeville Georgia.  Ethel and I had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer at the American Public Garden Association Small Garden Symposium in January.

Jennifer and I had a wonderful time touring her Arboretum and exchanging ideas. They are doing great things with education.  Please visit Lockerly if you are near Milledgeville.
