Audience members enjoyed a wonderful container gardening demo from Master Gardener Jane McCarthy during National Public Garden Week.. 
Jane discussed how to properly prepare your soil, paint your pot, and how to select the flowers to put in your container. She had several helpful hints on how to keep your soil moist and your pot not so heavy. She had plant samples for shade areas and planted a container for a sunny spot.
The finished container was gorgeous and a winner was drawn to take it home. We were so pleased that new member Sharon Stewart won. She came several days and enjoyed the many activities hosted by the Montgomery Botanical Gardens at Oak Park.
