Eagle Scout Candidate completes outdoor classroom

Eagle Scout Candidate, Conner McLemore, completes the outdoor classroom for the Montgomery Botanical Gardens at Oak Park.

Conner presented his proposal to the Montgomery Botanical Gardens Board of Directors in January.  He and his fellow Boy Scouts built this outdoor classroom in record time.

MBG asked Conner in April if he could condense his timeline and have the classroom available for National Public Garden Week.  We appreciate him adjusting his schedule and making it happen.  We now have a gorgeous place for storytime with children and adult garden demonstrations.

Conner coordinated with Pat Adams who donated the tree stumps and the gorgeous 6 foot slab of cypress for the table.  We are so grateful to Conner and Pat and look forward to many opportunities to use our outdoor classroom.
