Eagle Scout Candidate Conner McLemore completes his project

President Dr. Tyna Davis, Eagle Scout Candidate Conner McLemore and Vice President Fairlie Rinehart

At the July Board of Directors Meeting of the Montgomery Botanical Gardens at Oak Park, Eagle Scout Candidate Conner McLemore presented his final report on his project to the board of directors.

During the spring Conner researched and built an outdoor classroom under some trees at the Montgomery Botanical Gardens.  We have approximately 30 stump seats and a beautiful table with a cedar top for demonstrations, meetings and many other educational purposes.  Many thanks to Pat Adams who generously donated the stump and table materials.

MBG used the classroom daily during National Public Garden Week in May and we have demonstrations planned for August, September and October.  Please see our website for more information.

We have many other projects ready for anyone that needs the service hours. Please email us at info@montgomerybotanicalgardens.com.  Please consider a membership or donation to help us grow.

  1. Thank you for letting Connor complete his Eagle Scout project. We can’t wait to see more students, groups and individuals use the space.
