Some of MBG’s most reliable volunteers are those dedicated members of the Montgomery Area Daylily Society who created and maintain the ADS Daylily Display Garden within the Southern Garden at MBG. We are pleased to share the good news that the MADS ADS Daylily Garden at the Montgomery Botanical Gardens was recently recognized and honored at an international level. The MBG Daylily Garden was selected by the International Daylily Society as the “International Garden of the Week” for the week of January 1, 2022. “This week we can extend our congratulations to the Montgomery Area Daylily Society members for their dedication and hard work creating a beautiful AHS Display Garden at the Montgomery Botanical Gardens. Oliver Billingslea has been the designer and watchful eye overseeing this project these past 3 summers. The garden has many mixed perennials and so far 112 daylily cultivars, all of which were hybridized in Region 14. Backyard gardens are a gem, but it is very impressive to see clubs share their expertise in a public place, promoting our beloved daylilies.” |
