Dr. Tyna Davis will serve as President from 2019 through 2020. She served on the board for three years before beginning her term as President in January.
Dr. Tyna D. Davis is a distinguished professional woman. She is a retired Manager of the Education Policy and Professional Practice and Human & Civil Rights Division of the Alabama Education Association. She is a renowned educator in the state and has been intricately involved in education policy decisions at the federal, state, and local levels.
Additionally, Dr. Davis has served as President of Alabama Education Association, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., The Montgomery Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, the CARATS, Inc., Alabama Center for Law Related Education; Alabama Association of Classroom Teachers, and the Montgomery Association of Classroom Teachers; Chair, Task Force for Educational Leadership Policy and Law (ELPL) Scholarship Program for Alabama State University; Founding Chairperson of WAVE (Women Advocating Voter Empowerment), Montgomery, AL; Chairperson, NETDAYS Committee Alabama.
Dr. Davis has a love of nature and people and sees the development of the Montgomery Botanical Garden as a quiet respite to connect with one’s self.
Dr. Davis is married to Warren L. Davis III and has two children, Dr. Wartyna Davis and Dr. Warren L. Davis IV. She has two grandchildren, Tyna and Tyler Davis.
